Base Designing's Vicious Cycle

When it comes to base designing, there are something about the nature of base design which makes learning and progressing really difficult.  Base designing in War is really a tightly closed system because of how bases are privately made to the designer and would be first impolite to publish a base and make it lose value, second the fact a base is more useful within a clan and can be used more repeatedly only if it's not known for the public, and thirdly the fact that base designers are solo-ist, which learn the art by themselves and most aren't really good at teaching.

So there are two routes of which a "pro" base builder, or a base happens:
Route 1:
- Base designers get better in their craft;
- As they become more popular/ better at design, their bases are utilized more frequently;
- More frequent use by clashers means more exposure and attack strategies identified and shared;
- Base becomes outdated and process cycles again.

Route 2:
- Base designers get better in their craft;
-as their base gets used more and more, they keep it private
-base gets used only by those that are in clan
-base gets replaced by newer ones
-previous base dies with the clan
For those that opt for Route 1, they like to express their base to the public and ask and see for public opinion.  Most of the opinions would be positive or helpful criticism, but after a few weeks, the base that is being used by the public will start to be used frequently resulting in a diminish of the quality and value of the base.  With this outcome, and the advancement of base attack strategies, the base will quickly die down and no longer be considered efficient in the current meta or it'll be too popular to the point where everyone knows how to kill it.  For base builders, some people are really attached to their bases so seeing their base die in such a way would make it so that they wouldn't post anymore.

Majority of base builders opt for Route 2.  This is due to the fact that keeping a base private allows the extension of the life of the Base itself, also the fact that it can be used again. This sense of secrecy is almost ingrained into clans due to the fact that base designs are too important for victory and keeping things closed off will proved more benefit for the clan than releasing it to the public.

Why Elite Base Builder or Bases don't really reach the Public

With this sense of privacy in place for base builders, it in return because an inside learning, where if you want to become a base builder yourself and keep up with the meta, you need to either have a mentor or gather resources through insight yourself.  There aren't enough base building guides in the public regarding to the elite war clans due to the fact that the vicious cycle of keeping the base a secret.  The ones bases that get circulated around are either those that aren't up to date and try to show off their products which will never live up to the current standards, or outdated bases which were good but no longer is good.

This vicious cycle of not sharing knowledge and even worse is the fact that there aren't many guides to help the public with War base designing, they are FAR outnumbered by Attack Strategies. You see hundreds of attack strategies, Goho's, but how many channels teach how to base design?  When it comes to base designs, most of them are keep to themselves, and then are forgotten. -sadface-.

"As a TWC BD, I'm puzzled since its prohibited to share less than week old / two serious wars old bases for nines." - Aphrodi
A quote that makes me sad :(
